The developer behind the project was experienced and had a proven track record of success in other developments. Nevertheless, halted financing, rising interest rates, inflation, and the Covid-19 crisis combined and led to failure.
The lesson is clear. Even seasoned and successful developers can fail. When an investor lacks a solid legal and financial protection plan, or does not fully understand the terms of the investment, the outcome can be devastating both financially and emotionally.
